Position Goal: Responsible for proper marketing and education of Durable Medical Equipment; Building effective relationships and coordinating Hughston wide DME program.

Position Responsibilities;

  • Provides oversight for development, direction and coordination of all DME staff and DME/WC policies and procedures.
  • Develops and provides physicians with DME comparable items as needed.
  • Continually markets and educates physicians and staff on all new and current DME/WC products.
  • Reports to senior clinic management as needed.
  • Manages DME staff expectations and time management.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with physicians, hospitals, clinics and vendors.
  • Assists with supply/DME ordering, inventory activities, receiving, etc. and is responsible for assisting in maintaining an appropriate inventory levels at all times.
  • Obtains authorizations for custom braces and all DME prescribed for worker's compensation patients.
  • Responsible for maintaining all DME/WC regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Responsible for reviewing DME workflow and processes to ensure billing and documentation requirements are met on a daily basis, i.e. DME orders, procedure documentation, signed forms. etc.
  • Responsible for patient care activities such as determining proper DME sizing and fitting.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining departmental budgets, reporting on variances in said budget and overall oversight of budget.
  • Delivers and fits DME and fulfills WC prescriptions for patients as needed.
  • Escorts patients from waiting area to cast room for analysis of needs as needed.
  • Works DME hold buckets in workflow dashboard in Athena daily.
Experience: 2 years of medical office experience required, 5 years of experience preferred. Previous experience in DME preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or related field required.
Special Qualifications: Motivated, self-driven with a proven history of success. Strong team player.  Must be able to build relationships and be highly organized with effective presentation skills. Must be able to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Must maintain a BLS certification. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be in good standing.
