Position Goal: Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Must have command of radiographic technique on single and triple phase generators and digital radiography.
  • Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views.
  • Memorize what views each physician requires on exams.
  • Process Radiologic film.
  • Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.  Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Requires vast knowledge of muskuloskeletal anatomy.
  • Maintains supply rooms.  Stocks necessary equipment.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order.  Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • File and manage Clinic radiology films in Clinic jackets and understand terminal digit filing system.

Experience: One-year experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT. Current ARRT certification and current TN state license. 
Special Qualifications: Must be able to work independently. Must maintain CPR certification.  Must be able to work a staggered shift.
