Position Goal: Administer and coordinate all activities/operations related to the elective practice.  Serve as liaison between office location and Main (Corporate) Office.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise the performance of all procedures/operations in the orthopedic physician office. Serve as liaison between local office and Main Clinic.
  • Familiar with what each physician requires for a productive clinic.Escort patients to/from waiting - triage area.Monitors patient flow regularly.Assist in clinic with vitals, removing staples/sutures, assist with minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Plan and schedule personnel/work assignments in the orthopedic office to ensure proper distribution of assignments as well as adequate staffing, space and facilities for the office.
  • Assists as needed in compiling, preparing reports and analysis setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions for the orthopedic office.
  • Main liaison with physicians and staff to resolve problems, offer advice concerning technical procedures, techniques and equipment, and to maintain conformance with specific Hughston standards established for the clinical office.
  • Supervise and coordinate all patient billing activities related to orthopedic professional services in the clinical office.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms/change sheets after patient etc.Sterilize equipment using Hughston approved techniques.
  • Ensures efficient and accurate system charge capture and review claims submission processes and metrics.
  • Ensure patients have the necessary surgery/test appointment information to include location, date and time.Performs follow up calls after procedure to document progress.Communicates instructions and/or restrictions as necessary.
  • Responsible for direct clinical office personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, transfers and vacation schedules.
  • Ensures and participate in procedure charges- attach appropriate document and send to Athena.Clear surgery charts, work hold buckets in workflow dashboard in Athena.
  • Review and monitor clinical office staffing levels and productivity.
  • Evaluate clinical practice and review clinical records to ensure standards of care and quality of services are provided and documented.
  • Completion of patient forms (FMLA, Insurance, disability).
  • Assist teams in development of team goals and standards; evaluate the educational and competency needs of staff.
  • Must adhere to all Hughston financial policies and procedures.  
Experience: Minimum of two years clinical technical experience required.
Education: Higher related education or comparable similar experience of two plus years.  Work requires minimum of two years clinical technical experience to gain expertise in the principles, theories, procedures and equipment in the clinical area of assignment. 
Special Qualifications: Must have previous supervisory skill, excellent customer service skills.  Knowledge of statistical reporting, HIPAA personnel practices, medical terminology and inventory principles, medical office. Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.  Must be able to work independently.  Maintains CPR certification.
