Position Goal: Assist Nashville Clinic office location with a variety of administrative functions to ensure the most efficient clinical operation.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Answer phone calls and process accordingly. Review charts for accuracy and communicate missing/incomplete to the provider. Ensure Clinic dictation is complete, clinic charges are entered, operation reports complete, surgery charges entered.
  • Escort patients from waiting area to triage area or room, ranging from those patient with full to limited mobility.
  • Maintain current record on provider’s license renewals, memberships, CME credits, hospital privileges, etc.
  • Schedule provider meetings, appointments, clinic schedules, and surgery schedules.
  • Ensure all lab results, test results, and patient paperwork is scanned into patient EMR.
  • Responsible for assisting in providing ICD10 and CPT codes as directed by physician.
  • Assist in scheduling surgeries and diagnostic tests as directed by physician.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Enter new patients in Athena from pMD with demographic information and global dates by obtaining them from HCare, Meditech, and Patient Keeper/
  • Obtain prior authorizations for office visits and surgeries.
  • Provide financial counseling to out of network patients.
  • Provide clinic/office coverage as needed.
  • Enter daily charge data and balance daily transactions
  • Distribute work and school excuses to patient as needed
  • Track “ no show” appointments
  • Verify insurance benefits/eligibility and document in the computer system
  • Scan scripts and reports into R-file
  • Send reports to physician secretaries, medical assistants, and billing department
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Experience: Experience: One (1) year of office/administrative experience required. Experience in billing, medical office billing preferred. Requires computer experience.  Knowledge of AthenaNet and medical terminology preferred.
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Special Qualifications:Must be able to work independently. Current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be in good standing.
