Position Goal: To support proper maintenance of the Durable Medical Equipment Department by performance of administrative functions/tasks.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with physicians, hospitals and satellite clinic locations.
  • Reconciles vendor invoices with packing slips for DME
  • Identify issues and resolve with DME processes, workflows, etc.
  • Work DME hold buckets for all offices:  Appeal claims in a timely manner, research denials and contact payors for information, complete and attach LMN’s for claims.
  • Work Bone Growth Stimulator orders by ordering stims, obtaining pre-certs and prior authorizations by calling insurance companies/adjusters/patients, Obtains all necessary information required for pre-cert or prior authorization to include clinical dictation and test results, Verify benefits, co-pay, deductible and communicate to patients, Appeal denials in a timely manner.
  • Pre-certs any DME item as required by insurance companies: LSO (back braces), ACL (Knee braces) etc….
  • Stock and maintain work space as necessary.
Responsible to assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels at all times.
Experience: One-year previous related healthcare experience is desired, demonstrating competencies as described above.
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Special Qualifications: Must be able to work independently, have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and have excellent computer skills.  Also must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.  Self motivated and results oriented.  Must maintain positive outlook and be highly organized for work assigned.  Must have ability to multi-task and collaborate positively with other team members.  Prior Inventory experience, Medical Terminology a plus.
