Position Goal: To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.
Position Responsibilities;

  • Plans and administers hand therapy treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.
  • Observe and become aware of progress of patient, discuss with physician as necessary.
  • Record progress notes on a daily basis.
  • Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
  • Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers. Etc…to support hand therapy treatments as required.
  • Provide for a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinic environment.
  • Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
  • Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
  • Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
  • Assign work to and instruct Rehab Aides.
  • Communicate progress, both written and verbal to patient, physicians and lead therapist as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience: 5 years previous OT/PT experience preferred with 3 of the 5 years experience preferably in a hand clinic environment. State modalities certification required. Preferred proficiency in both static and dynamic custom splinting. Experience in multi trauma cases and wound care a plus.
Education: BS or higher in Occupational therapy or Physical Therapy and appropriate continuing education/clinical rotations.
Special Qualifications: Current Occupational or Physical Therapy license, Maintain current CPR certification
