Position Goal: Under general supervision, will perform a variety of basic department functions to assist this area overall as assigned. Work will provide a basic overview of the PRD function.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to gain familiarity with all aspects of the Revenue Cycle—PRN position will rotate in the following areas: Pre-Certification; Financial Counseling, Reimbursement Analyst and Refund Analyst. 
  • Helps promote team concept in all assigned areas by establishing and maintaining relationships, building trust and respect.
  • Answers calls, makes follow up calls to patients, to insurance companies etc….
  • Employees will assist management/leadership/department by completing daily assignments and working on departmental projects as needed to further enhance technical revenue cycle skills. (all areas)
  • Applies learned knowledge in every area to achieve expected operational result.
  • Attends departmental meetings to stay abreast of compliance factors that affect the overall revenue cycle, Hughston revenue procedures etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience:Prior clerical, patient experience in medical billing setting preferred. Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10 preferred but not required in this position. (will be learned in role)
Education:High School or equivalent required.
Special Qualifications:Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft Office—excel, word, etc….Prior knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty.  This position may require irregular work hours depending on assignment.  Must be able to effectively communicate both written and oral.
