Position Goal: To ensure patient insurance benefits are verified prior to scheduled appointment date. To consult with patients when there is a problem with verifying coverage.

Position Responsibilities:

• Obtain Medicaid/Wellcare and Medicaid HMO prior authorizations for follow up visits to Clinic.
• Append authorizations, correct insurance to claim for processing.
• Primary Clinic contact for Medicaid/Wellcare and Medicaid HMO reimbursement solutions.
• Work directly with Trauma analyst to ensure maximum reimbursement.
• Responsible for working Trauma hold buckets for claims related to authorization and/or Medicaid.
• Pre-certification for Trauma locations..
• Enter corrected or updated insurance information into system.

Experience: Knowledge of insurance plans required. Medical office and data entry experience preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Special Qualification:  Working knowledge of HIPAA/Medicaid/Pre-certification Process. Effective Time Management Skills, strong attention to detail. Must be able to adapt to constant changes, work well with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
